Corby Wyn Davis

Ms. Corby Davis would like to let you know that her work here is done. She received a call, an offer she could not refuse, for an appointment to heaven, a reunion of family and friends she had not seen in a very long time. Job security is exactly 110 percent. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be socializing, dancing, singing with her guitar, reading and painting the skies with her artistic ways. Music, laughter and love are guaranteed. Food is delicious and you never gain an ounce. Corby left detailed instructions to family and friends to celebrate her mission here, which has now been completed. Her patience for not following her instructions is completely unacceptable.

We want to let Ms. Corby Davis know that she did an amazing job and would like to wish her a safe journey. We will remember her smile and hearty laugh, her warmth, her energy, her love for family and friends, but also students, colleagues and clients, many of whom over time became friends. She worked very hard all her life, up until the very end. She made a difference in all our lives.

Ms. Corby Wyn Davis died Sunday, January 31 at age 58, spending her final days in hospice care in Bellingham, Washington.

Such an extraordinary person she was. She will be profoundly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Until we meet again my friend. Rest in Peace.

Corby was a colleague of mine until very recently.  I would just like you to know that it was a pleasure to have had the opportunity to work with her for many years and she is greatly missed.

Corby had rented an apartment from us many years ago. She wasn't a typical renter. She immediately became part of our family, sharing in many of our family functions.

She was an outstanding person and wil be forever in our hearts.

Corby, you were a strong, beautiful and amazing person.  Although our friendship is one that blossomed in the past....you have and will always have a place in my heart and prayers.   Blessings to you and all that will miss her in this lifetime.

Wonderful, amazing Corby .....  how I wish I had known what you were going through these last months.   We were such close friends, starting in 1985;  I know we haven't been that close for the last ten years ....  but you have always been with me, in my mind, full of memories of the amazing things we did together!   ... so much fun with you:  The river-rafting trip where we partied the night before and then had to get up so early to "hit the river".   Remember how you saved me from getting thrown out of the raft?   I had a big bruise on my shoulder, where you grabbed me and would not let go until you knew I was safe.   I also remember, on that trip, how you had so much fun and totally enjoyed the danger and adventure of it all.  And me???  I was scared and afraid to embrace the fun.   I will always remember the raft going down a "waterfall" ... you stood up in the raft and screamed with JOY !!!   I hunkered down in the raft and waited for it to be over.  I'm so glad you loved that day.   I love it too ...  can still see you standing up in the raft, going over the falls.

My whole family loves you too; you know that.  How many times did you go with me to my Mom's home in Blaine????   You are like a kid sister to my sister and me.   Dave [you know, hubby] .... was so sad last night when I told him you were on a new adventure, in another place.   I told him how you liked it when he called you "Corbs" .... and that you thought of him as an older brother.  He was so sad, as we all are.   Sorry, but I just can't be brave about this ....  I want you back here, on Earth.

And hey, Corby:  How about the time we were coming back from Mom's in Blaine and I was just about out of gas.   We were worried that we might not make it back to Bellingham, so we pulled over in Ferndale, to a gas station.   We pulled our money and came up $1.37 !!!!   Crazy!!!   But, we put that amount of gas in the car and made it to Bellingham!!!

You are such a vibrant person;  the truest friend;  I'm sorry I wasn't a better friend to you.  Can I have a second chance????   I'll look for your paintings in the clouds in the sky;  I'll watch the animals for you and always give them a good burial, birds, mice, rodents and all, as you did.   So many things I want to say here;  I promise I'll say more to you each day and night, when I see the sun and stars;  this morning I saw stars off of our deck and thought of you.

I love you Corby ..... do what you need to do now, because you're amazing at whatever you choose to do.  They're lucky to have you up there;  but, if you change your mind, you know where all of your friends are.

Greetings.  A group of us in the Seattle area that met quarterly lost contact with Corby when she moved north.  Could you let us know what happened? One of us did a google search to try and find her when we found this posting about her death.  We were heart broken.  Thank you.Cathy
