James McKenna was born in Pakistan and raised in the United Kingdom. After serving as a Spitfire pilot in the British Royal Navy and attending medical school at Guy’s Hospital London, James moved to New York City and eventually the west coast. James settled in Fresno, CA, practicing pediatric oncology at Valley Medical Center. James and his wife Arnecia retired to Ferndale in 2005. James is survived by his wife, two sons Christopher and Ian, and stepchildren Jacques, Jabbar, and Jocelynne along with several step-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held in Fresno, CA on a future date. Donations may be made to Whatcom Hospice.

Please accept my sincere condolences for your recent loss. My heart goes out to you and your family. I have always received comfort from the Bibles’ word at Philippians 4:7 which reads “and the peace of God that surpasses all understanding will guard your heart and your mental powers by means of Christ Jesus”.
