Terry Campbell

Service Information

A celebration of her life will be held later in January.

Terry Wicker Campbell was born in Kennett, MO and traveled with parents and brother throughout her early childhood. The family spent several years in Whatcom Co. in the early 1950s when Dad was employed building the Cherry Point Refinery. She graduated from high school in St, Charles, MO then attended the University of MO in Columbia. She then embarked on a career in retail that took her all over the US. She worked as a buyer in the fashion shoe and jewelry industries and became involved in shopping center development as a temporary leasing specialist. She developed major projects in Las Vegas, Dallas, Atlanta, Indianapolis, Phoenix, Cincinnati, Portland and Minneapolis.

She finally tired of the travel and moved to Bellingham to be with her Mother and brother 10 years ago. Until she began her fight with cancer, she worked for many years at the front desk of the Bellwether Hotel. She became known to many guests as the smiling, helpful face of the hotel who would go out of her way to making their stay in Bellingham a memorable one.

Teri also devoted her life to helping others and served as a volunteer in many capacities including the Mount Baker Theater and Whatcom Hospice House.

She is survived by her brother, Bill Wicker and his partner in life Josephine Stewart of Bellingham as well as her nephew Will, nieces Katherine, Lisa (Ron) Guier, Julie (Daniel) Chavira; and their children Caitlyn, Daniel Jr, Christian, Emma and Abby. Teri also leaves behind too many friends and admirers to count including many guests of the hotel who became her friend. Her parents Bud and Iris Wicker predecease her.

The family requests that donations be made to Whatcom Hospice as a thank you for the care they bestowed on Teri and her entire family.

Teri was Lisa and Julies aunt not the other way around and i left off as survivors my other two kids who Teri was an aunt to. Their names are Katherine and Will.

From Erin Cross

Teri was a mentor to me while I worked at the Hotel Bellwether. Without her support and encouragement to follow my dreams and realize my potential I wouldn't be where I am today. Teri was incredibly selfless and always wanted the best for those around her. She will be deeply missed.

From Tim Riley

I had the pleasure of knowing Teri for a few years while I lived in Bellingham. I was going through a rough time in my life and she would always lend an ear when I needed one. She understood me and would try to help whenever she could. I will miss her surprisingly wicked sense of humor and our Scrabble battles. And Teri....the bird is the word.
