HANAKO “MARY” (TSUYE) AYOSA, age 87, residing in Bellingham Washington, passed away on January 17, 2012 from natural causes.

Hanako was born on October 7, 1924 in Seattle Washington to mother Kikuyo Tsuye and father Kishiro Tsuye. Hanako had two brothers, Kazuo (John) Tsuye and Fusagiro (George) Tsuye. Hanako married Richard C.W. Cain Jr. and later remarried Victor Ayosa. Hanako raised her children in Seattle and lived there all her active life.

She was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church in Seattle. She loved music, singing, ballroom dancing, knitting, crocheting, and reading. She was raised to ignore insult and speak nice or not at all. She had strength to know what is important in the face of adversity, perseverance as a single parent after divorce and tragedy, and a sense of humor and wit that only her children could not appreciate.

Hanako is survived by her children, James H. Tsuye, Cheryl E. Cain, Victoria H. Reece, Geoffrey K. Ayosa, Michael A. Ayosa, and Christina M. Mayfield, 12 grandchildren, and 15 great-grandchildren.

Hanako was predeceased by her father and mother, husband Victor Ayosa, brothers Kazuo (John) Tsuye and Fusagiro (George) Tsuye, and grandson Steven Ayo Reece.
