Chuck was always an inspiration to me.  Served his country, served his community.  I enjoyed going to the NASCAR races with him and will always consider him a treasured friend and mentor.

My condolences on Chuck's passing. He flew west with the love and undying support of Ramona and his fsmily. The memories I have of Chuck are wonderfully etched in my own being. He was a true gift to all who knew him. The suffering he endured is over, May he Rest In Peace. May Ramona heal knowing she cared for her spouse with unyielding devotion.

My best memories will be all the tailgate parties and games at Texas Stadium.  Chuck was always so much fun.  He will be missed.  Ramona you are truly an angel.  With much love to you, Claire and Mark.

Chuck was born to fly.  If memory serves, in the summer of 1965, spending the day with Chick I got a tour of a room in his house in Columbia dedicated to flying. Complete with a wall-mounted propellor and the pilot's license of his father signed by one of the Wright brothers.  AVGAS and JET-A were in his blood, and I'll bet he looked at every airplane he heard go by. Maybe not as strong a bond as marriage, but as strong as a fraternity, the bond between squadron mates lives on.  The members of 65-F may dwindle, but none will be forgotten.  And Ramona, he could not have done it without you; even if he never really grew up.

I join your many friends in saying what a privilege it was for my beloved CH and I to have had you and your Ramona as our friends.  I’ll never forget how you looked after CH at the day care and know he would have done the same for you had he been the one who was more mobile.  You two had a bond in being able to communicate with one another on a level that was hard for others to understand.  I’m just so happy that your beloved Ramona took the picture of the two of you while you were waiting for the day care bus.  You both looked so happy—probably the happiest I saw CH th rest of the year.  Hope the two of you are able to enjoy one another’s company once again.  You will be so missed by me, all your many friends,  your chidren, little Maddy and more than either of you probably thought possible, your beloved Ramona.  I hope we meet again.

Dear Sweets, Howard would want me to remind you of all the good old times we had, and I want to remind you of how much I missed you when you stopped makiing your trips to Columbia. But you knew that I'm sure. There are no friends like old friends.  Well, I guess you and your Sweets, Howard, are off on one of your swamp stomps, camping and hunting and carrying on like God knows what!  It makes me happy to believe that the two of you ate laughing together and getting into mischief together once again. I love you.
