Winnifred G. O'Hara
A private graveside service will be held at Greenacres Memorial Park, with Pastor Ted O’Hara presiding.
Winnifred Grace (Winnie) O’Hara, age 92, peacefully passed away early Sunday morning August 30, 2020 at Silverado Bellingham. Winnie was born July 1, 1928 in Winnipeg, Manitoba to Ernest Dalzell and Elanor (Hosford) Dalzell. She graduated from Daniel McIntyre High School and moved to Vancouver, B.C. at age eighteen. In 1948 she married Ken O’Hara of Bellingham. They lived, worked and raised their family in Whatcom County. She loved her family, friends and many pets. She enjoyed travel (Ireland and England), music (Jazz and Big Bands), and “working” complex puzzles. She was especially fond of sunshine. Throughout her life Winnie lived by faith in Christ and prayer. Winnie is survived by her brother Ernie (Marj) Dalzell; her children Scarlett (Steven) Ballard, Tanis (Randy) Cowin, Craig (Beverly Rae) O’Hara, Terry (Diana) O’Hara, Ted O’Hara, and Karen (William) Tiernan; nineteen grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters, husbands Ken O’Hara in 1993 and Percy Bond in 2015. Winnie was delightful person and a joy to be around. She worked for us many years and kept everyone laughing all the time. She had a heart of gold always doing for others. She was always so much fun at our annual Christmas parties telling jokes, making up stories and claiming she could read Chinese Tea Leaves when we would dine at a Chinese restaurant.....telling what the leaves were saying. She was very entertaining, convincing and hilarious to all! She will definitely missed! God Bless Winnie and May she Rest In Peace!

We traveled to Hawaii with both sides of the family and how she loved the sun
Winnie was an especially kind friend to our Mom Lorraine Wiley. They enjoyed many Lunches and Movies. She always had a sweet smile and always kind words for all.. She will be missed by many.

I enjoyed the times we saw each other though they weren't many .... it doesn't really matter how many years you had your mom with you, it leaves a hole in your heart when they're gone..... you & your family will be in my thoughts & prayers..

I loved my Auntie Winnie. She was always so much fun to be around and she always paid attention to us when we were kids and our families were visiting together. She was generous and kind. I used to look forward with excitement and anticipation when my parents told us we would be going "to the States" to visit the O'Hara's. To all my cousins, I send my love a warm virtual hug.
