Rhodora Mann

Service Information

Per Rhodora's wishes there will not be a service. The families will be gathering on future dates to Celebrate the joyful life of Rhodora.

Rhodora Francisca "CHIP"(Aquino) Mann succumbed to cancer on July 29, 2022. Rhodora was born on July 7, 1953 at Madigan Army Hospital, Ft. Lewis, WA, the daughter of Victor Aquino Sr and Estelita Aquino. She grew up in Lakewood and graduated from Clover Park High in 1971. She graduated from Western Washington University in 1978, worked briefly for Fast Eddie's Tavern, Seattle First National Bank and then began a long and distinguished career as a social worker for DSHS. She retired in 2016 as a Civil Investigator for Adult Protective Services. Rhodora is survived by her son Jordan Mann, former husband Ranny Mann, sister Emily Patterson, husband Ray, sister Florence McGlaughlin, husband Alan, brother Victor Aquino Jr, spouse Mary, nephews Brandon and Billy Patterson, nephews Bryan and Nathan McGlaughlin, nephew Max Aquino, niece Flannery Wilcox and many other family members.

Rhodora lived a full, active, and meaningful life. She loved to travel, was an avid runner, golfer, competitive tennis player, pleasure boater, artist, musician/singer and she was a great dancer! She thoroughly enjoyed being with family and friends. She was kind, optimistic, and humorous. She had a great laugh that brightened whatever room she was in. She was the only one in the family that could actually make lumpia almost as good as her mom's. And she was the bravest of fighters against the disease that finally took her.

The family would like to thank Whatcom Hospice, cna Emily & cna LL for ALL of their caring efforts and support.

A treasure to know Rhodora and reconnect in recent years for omelets, drives and music. She always referred to Ranny and Jordan as her angels.

I will miss her competitive spirit, her sharp, politically saavy, and forthright comments, her  explosive laugh, and her compassion for the disadvantaged and vulnerable. She was respected by her co-workers for putting the needs of the client first and loved by her friends for her care, honesty and support.

Rest easy and now in peace, Auntie. Why do they always take the good ones too soon? One of a kind personality and heart of gold. I have special memories that I'll keep with me - thank you for those. I got J.

I knew Rhodora from Adult Protective Services. She graciously took me on several investigations when I first joined the unit. She was always respectful and empathetic toward our clients. She did not judge. She gave the most inspiring and uplifting speech when she left State service. I'm glad I knew her.

From Char G Dykes (Dale)

I am so incredibly saddened to hear of Rhodora
( Chip's ) passing. I actually just found out today as I was attempting to look her up. We were great friends in college and for some time after.
We lost contact through the years but I have thought of her often. So much fun together, we actually were nicknamed Chip and Dale for all our crazy antics and constant laughing...
In those days friends always saw us together, as we were inseparable. Even those our lives went in different directions and we lost touch with each other I always had love for her her, and our great memories will forever be with me. I loved her family, all the Aquino's, and can still here her dad calling me, "McClain" ( my maiden name), because he couldn't (or wouldn't) say Char.....
Love and hugs to Vic, Emily, and Florence...
