Service Information

Services were held for John on Thursday, December 1st at Northlake Community Church.

John W. Spelgatti went peacefully to be with his Lord on Saturday, November 19th, 2016, at home, at age 79, surrounded by family. John was born and raised in Potlatch, ID, the oldest of five siblings. He met the love of his life, Corlee, while they both worked for Northwest Airlines. They were married August 5, 1961.

John was known for his musical talent. He was a member of several bands in his younger years and played a variety of instruments. He was always willing to lend a hand if someone was in need. He was a 50 year member of IUOE and was considered to the best blademan on the West Coast. He spent several years working on the Alaska Pipeline. He served his country in the Army Corp of Engineers from 1958-1961.

John leaves behind Corlee,his wife of 55 years; two daughters: Janine Mitchell (husband Christopher) of Anchorage, AK and Denise Willis (husband Mark) of Helena, MT; seven grandchildren: Alyssa Angelina, Brooklyn, Zachary, Bryan, Gloria and Nicole; and one great-grandchild.

The family wishes to give a heartfelt thanks to the staff of NCCHC, OptionCare and Whatcom Hospice.
