Marian Monaghan

Marian Alma Monaghan (Erikson), 92, of Deming left for heaven on Tuesday, November 17th.

Marian was born in Bellingham on November 5th, 1923. Raised on a working farm on Lake Whatcom, she graduated from Mt. Baker High School in 1940. As a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, Marian saw her family through World War II, marriages, births, tragedy, heartache, and the Gulf Wars, while remaining our biggest fan, and a model of grace and humility. Marian was a wonderful cook and hostess; no visitor left her home hungry or without a kind word.

Marian was preceeded in death by her beloved husband of 57 years, Archie R. Monaghan, her sister Louise Ciro, and her brother, John Erikson.

The last of the greatest generation in her family, Marian is survived by her four loving children, Robin Alcantara, Archie Monaghan, Sharleen Scholten and Rita Stephens. Grandma Monaghan was often surrounded by her adoring grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

As Marian was ready to go, we had to let her.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, Nobvember 28th, 2PM at Immanuel Lutheran Church. 5782 Lawrence Road, Everson, WA, 98247.
