A casual memorial gathering in honor of Amber will be held on Sept 20, 2026, from 12 to 3, at the beach pavilion at Bloedel Donovan Park, 2214 Electric Avenue, Bellingham, Washington.
Mexican food and soft drinks will be served. Family and friends are welcome to gather together to remember Amber and celebrate her life.

Amber Dawn Hastings passed away on August 5, 2026, in Bellingham, Washington, at the age of 40.
Amber was truly one of a kind. She was funny and witty, with a personality that could bring laughter into a room and a quick sense of humor that those who knew her will always remember. She was ambitious, creative, crafty, and incredibly resourceful - someone who could take an idea, find a way to make it happen, and often create something special out of very little. She approached life in her own way, and the qualities that made her Amber - the humor, wit, creativity, ambition, and resourcefulness - will remain part of the memories shared by everyone who loved her.
Above all, Amber leaves behind two very important parts of her life, her children, Parker, age 20, and George, age 13. Her love and memory will continue through them, and she will forever be a part of their lives and their stories.
Amber is lovingly remembered by her mother, Christine Walton; her stepfather, Larry; her father, Matthew Brace; her sister, Heather Brace; her stepsister, Journey Morgan; and her former stepfamily, the Hirschkorns, along with extended family, friends, and others whose lives she touched.
Amber was preceded in death by her grandparents, Larry and Virginia Hager, and George and Joyce Brace.
Forty years was far too short for a life that meant so much.
Amber will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and never forgotten.
Forever 40. Forever loved. Forever Amber.
