Clifford Moran

Service Information

Graveside services will be held at Greenacres on Friday, March 28th at 2p.m.

Clifford (Cliff ) Moran, a lifelong resident of  Whatcom County, was born in Bellingham March 30, 1928. He resided in Bellingham for 94 years, with the last two years in Lynden, WA at Meadow Greens, passing away December 5, 2024 at the age of 96.

Clifford married Peggy Teller on July 8, 1949 and together they raised four children, working hard to give their family a stable, loving home. They traveled together, but loved their home most of all.

He had a great love of baseball, playing in his early years and later coaching little league. Clifford also liked to river fish with his son Casey, getting up at dawn to head to the Nooksack River, despite the fact that he never caught the most fish. Cliff bowled weekly in a league at the 20th Century Bowling Alley for several years in the 1960's  and early 1970's, earning patches and trophies for high scores.

With the passing of his wife Peggy in 2009, he remained in the family home for the next 15 years. He was a very determined, independent man who watched sports, played cribbage and challenged the New York Times crossword puzzle daily until nearly the end. An avid reader he had several hundred books, all of which he had read.

Most of all, Dad loved his family and always did his best as a hard worker to provide for his family, Clifford leaves behind children, Cathy Humphrey ( Bill), Cindy Moran Neidecker, Casey Moran ( Toma), Chris Moran ( Erika) and family. Granddaughter Rachel Humphrey, her son Elliot Fleet, granddaughter Dana Moran ( Collin Joyce), Grandson Matthew Humphrey (Colleen) and Grandson Sean Moran.

A special thanks to the kind staff at Meadow Green and the Whatcom Hospice. House for compassionate care in his last days.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Cliff`s name to the Whatcom Hospice House in Bellingham.
