In loving memory of Floyd Charles “Chuck” Cline, who passed away peacefully with family present on October 30, 2025 in Bellingham, Washington.
Chuck was born in Bellingham on December 19, 1938 to George M. Cline and Dorothy G. (Stark) Cline. He grew up all over Whatcom County from Blaine to Everson; attending Nooksack Valley School. He enrolled in the Air Force following graduation and was stationed at McChord Airforce base when he met his wife, Jeanne Kyle.
They married in October of 1959 and settled in Seattle where they raised their 7 children, until moving to Shoreline in 1977. Chuck and Jeanne enjoyed gardening together, camping around Washington with family, and taking road trips throughout the US.
Chuck’s hobbies over the years included leather working, grilling and smoking meat, and whatever new culinary project he took on from making homemade wine, pickled herring, canning salsa, to attempting to make a baguette as good as the ones he and Jeanne enjoyed in Paris.
He eventually sold the family home in 2015 and relocated to Arlington, WA where he spent much of his time with the good friends he met attending Immaculate Conception. He volunteered at the Arlington emergency cold-weather shelter and St. Vincent de Paul.
Chuck’s last 5 years were spent battling Alzheimer’s Disease. During that time, he found peace, happiness, and joy spending time with family and friends, and listening to the songs of Hank Williams.
He is preceded in death by his parents; Jeanne, his wife of 46 years; his daughter Jennifer and son, John. He is survived by daughter Lynnette (Dave) Bowman and her sons, Nicholas, Christopher, and Joseph; son Scott (Chris) Cline and their daughters, Jaime, Katie, and son Tyson; daughter Lisa (Don) Whitehead and their daughters, Elizabeth, Jessica, and Simonne; daughter Andrea (Matt) Jankowski, daughter Kelli (John Ramberg) Cline; and grandson Haydyn Cline (son of John). He also leaves behind 15 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.
