Jane Ellen DeNeui

Service Information

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, Sept 21 at 1:00 p.m. at Northwest Baptist Church, 3545 NW Avenue, Bellingham, Washington.

Bellingham, Washington - Jane went home to her Lord and Savior on August 24, 2024 at Whatcom Hospice House, after a sudden recurrence of ovarian cancer.
Jane has been a life-long resident of Bellingham, WA (BHS class of '79), a 40+ year devoted employee at SPIE, and she was involved at Immanuel Bible Church and NW Baptist over many years. Jane enjoyed time with her family, watching nieces and nephews grow up, and seeing cousins occasionally; and we siblings often told and retold stories of our childhood!
Known for her smile and fun nature, Jane helped to plan class reunions, and loyally kept in touch with friends throughout her life. She participated in SPIE’s team for Relay For Life for Cancer research and in SPIE’s annual Jingle Bell Run for arthritis team- even sewing hats and gloves for her teammates. At Christmas she shared her traditional nuts and homemade jams with holiday cheer!
When not at her daily visit to Arby’s or Dairy Queen, Jane could be found on a softball, volleyball or bowling team, or riding her scooter along the Bay. She was a proud “crazy cat lady” who missed her precious Sasser!
Jane has sung alto in many groups over the years, in High School, with John Munroe’s community choir, in Sonrise Singers, with family in a DeNeui Trio, and in her church choirs. Jane worked on 1000-pc jigsaw puzzles into the wee hours, practiced new recipes to share, finished multiple cross-stitch pictures and occasionally tried her hand at refinishing small pieces of furniture!
She has visited friends in missions in Guatemala and North Carolina and volunteered at Victory Bible Camp in Alaska (where she was chased by a moose!)
Jane was preceded in death by parents David and Gladys DeNeui.
She is survived by siblings Ann (Gary) Moore and Aaron (Brenda) DeNeui; nieces and nephews Nicole (Joshua) Burdick, Jacob (Tera) DeNeui, Josiah DeNeui (Cecilia) and Kerstin DeNeui. Jane is also loved by her grandnieces and grandnephew, Abby, Andy, Anwyn and Ember.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested in her memory to:
Lighthouse Mission Ministries, PO Box 548, Bellingham WA 98227
