John A. Vanderpol

John A. Vanderpol, age 69 passed away at Hospice House, August 6th, 2026. He is survived by
his wife Kathy Vanderpol, three children, Angela Pederson, Kerisa and Joe Zaddack, and
Steven and Donna Vanderpol. 10 grandkids and 2 great grandkids. Also survived by his
siblings Ryanne Vanderpol, Edwin Vanderpol, Marlys and Tracy Lane, and sister-in-law
Wava Vanderpol. He is preceded in death by his sister Karen (Bob) Rutgers, sister Vonda
Hall, brother Wayne Vanderpol, and sister Charlene Vanderpol.

He was born in Bellingham, Washington on July 12, 1957, to Lyle and Evelyn Vanderpol.
John was raised in both Lynden and Mt Vernon attending Lynden Christian until high school
where he attended Mt Vernon High School. He then went to Bellingham Technical College
for an auto body repair technician certificate. John then moved back to Lynden in 1978
when he took a job at Maple Leaf Auto Body for 25 years and then finished his career at
Charlie’s Auto Body for 17 years before retiring.

John loved his family; he spent many weekends camping at Thousand Trails with his wife,
children, and grandchildren. John was always working with his hands. He enjoyed any and
all projects such as working on cars, woodworking, painting, house projects, and building
the perfect home and yard for his family.

John will be remembered as a loyal, patient, kind, and honest man who opened his arms to
everyone he interacted with.

I have very fond memories of John having grown up with Angie and watching karissa and Steven he was a good provider and a good dad.
