Kathleen Jean Howard

Kathleen Jean Howard entered the loving arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ, on September 15, 2026.
Born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1948, it seems fitting that Kathleen’s life would be defined by love. She
was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife, friend, and faithful servant of God whose heart
always seemed to have room for one more person.

Kathleen’s Christian faith was the foundation of her life. She shared her love for Jesus freely, helped lead
hundreds to salvation, participated in missionary work in Haiti, and devoted countless hours to serving others.

She was also extraordinarily gifted with her hands. Over the years, Kathleen created countless quilts, afghans,
baby blankets, baby booties, cancer caps, and other handmade treasures. Her family knew that these were never
simply handmade—they were prayer-made, created with love and prayers for the people who would receive them.

Kathleen was equally well known for her joyful and mischievous spirit. She loved a good joke, an even better
prank, and the kind of laughter that left everyone’s stomach hurting. She showed those around her that a life of
deep faith could also be filled with tremendous joy.

Kathleen was preceded in death by her firstborn grandchild, Ryan Sabo, on April 2, 2021, and her loving
husband, Richard Zollatz, on July 13, 2026. Her family finds comfort in their Christian faith and the promise that
Kathleen is now reunited with those she loved and missed so dearly.

She is survived by her son, Brennon Sabo (Christine); daughters, Kris Mason (Ed) and Andrea Sabo (Scott);
as well as her beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family, adopted family, and the many people
she gathered into her enormous heart throughout her lifetime.

Kathleen leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family, service, creativity, love, and laughter.                                                  

We will cry because we miss her.                                                                                                                                                                    
We will smile when we remember her.                                                                                                                                                          

And we will laugh when we remember her wonderfully joyful spirit.
