Richard Brumfield passed away peacefully on September 18, 2024 after a prolonged struggle with Parkinson's at the age of 76. He was born May 28, 1948, in Bozeman, Montana, and grew up in West Seattle, WA with his parents Ben and Bernice Brumfield and sisters Virginia and Barb. Rick graduated from Sealth High School and later graduated from the University of Washington. He worked as an accountant at various entities and ended his career as the CFO at Green River Community College from 1984-2014. Rick loved gardening, growing dahlias, raising chickens, teaching his dogs tricks, and spending time with family. Rick was a loving husband and father. He supported his grandchildren at sporting events, whether that was in person or via zoom and sometimes hopped on a plane too. Rick leaves behind his wife Kathryn Longfellow, Elki Mae whom he raised, along with his children Aaron Brumfield (Tori) and Jodi Chichester (Jeff), sisters Virginia Rodriguez and Barb Seibert, grandchildren, and extended family. Rick was a wonderful father, caring husband, and supportive friend. Above all else Rick believed in being kind. He was very loved and will be greatly missed.
