Robb H. Mitchell
Robb H. Mitchell, 78, of Ferndale WA died Sunday, April 19. He is survived by loving family: wife Morlene, grown son Robb Jr. with wife Angie and son Jay (Nashville TN), and grown stepchildren Sarah (Sydney AU) and Peter (Tacoma WA).
In his “larger-than-life” life, Robb was an AP/UPI award-winning photojournalist and Marine Corps reservist; MBA and healthcare executive; skilled public speaker and hospital Public Information Officer. Co-founder of the Memphis Mountaineers. An avid hiker, rock climber (summited Grand Teton twice - 30 years apart!), mountain climber (on 4 continents), and skier. Robb ran marathons, triathlons, and the Iron Man; bicycled the Seattle-to-Portland race several times, kayaked, and captained a sailboat. Several-time Indy 500 attendee, a Corvette driver, and private pilot.
An amazing life led by a truly amazing man. He is already greatly missed.
Memories

My husband and I didn’t get to meet Robb until this past year. We knew him as a kind man with the most wonderful laugh! We didn’t know, even a tenth of his adventures or his careers or his awards. But it makes us love and miss him all the more. He was one in a million! ❤️

I always enjoyed my conversations with Robb and found him to be warm and positive. He was a lovely neighbor and he will be missed. Morlene, I know it’s been a difficult few years for you and my heart has been breaking for you both. In time, I hope Robb’s memory will be a blessing.

It was an honor to meet Robb, Morlene, Robb, Jr and Peter during the final phase Robb's journey. All that cared for him, appreciated his kindness, and marveled at his grace and sense of humor up to his final days. Watching the Mitchell family come together to support Robb and each other during Robb's final days was a privilege. He will be greatly missed.
