Memorial on Friday July 6th at Squalicum Boat House 1:00 to 3:00.

Adela May Millard, age 91, passed away on June 26th 2012. Born to Paul and Bertha Millard, she has been a Bellingham resident since 1941. Adela was born in Snohomish when her parents lived in Issaquah. The family moved from Issaquah to Ellensburg during Adela’s 10th grade year of school. After graduating from Ellensburg High School in 1939, Adela attended Central Washington State College. During this period, she helped out with a family-owned service station. The family then moved to Bellingham where they developed a wholesale evergreen business, Pacific Evergreen Company, and thereafter built the Mobile Land Trailer Park, which Adela ran after her dad passed away. She eventually took over the Pacific Evergreen Company which she relocated to her last place of residence.

Adela’s activities and interests include sports, travel, family, friends, and pets, as well as several charities to which she donated. Adela was involved in Bun Club, cake decorating, business floral arranging, and the YWCA where she held a life-time membership. Her and her best friends Liz and Bee were the ”Three Musketeers.” She played for the Bellingham Bells, girls’ baseball team in 1949, and she occasionally snow-skied. Adela’s travels included Singapore, where one of her friends, Bongsu, was from, a trip to Mexico City with her dad, the Panama Canal, New York City, Hawaii, and closer locations. She also enjoyed gardening and yard work at her properties on Whidbey Island and in Bellingham.

Adela is survived by her dog and faithful companion, Shilo, her sister-in-law, Lois, two nieces, Kay and Pauline, nephew, Alan, and their families.

Adela is still loved by friends and family, and with her passing, she will be greatly missed.
