Betty Frances Ford
No services are planned at this time.
Heaven gained one of the sweetest ladies on January 7th when Betty of 93 years passed quietly into the hands of our Lord. She was married to Clem L. Ford for 69 years, the love of her life. They moved to Bellingham in 1953 to raise their family of three children. Betty will always be remembered for her lovability. She never met a stranger. She was gracious, classy, warm and welcoming to everyone she ever met.
Many people knew her through her work of 25 years as a cashier at the Whatcom County Treasures office. She was a member of the Garden Street Methodist Church for many years. A true Christian in every way. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved God, her family, country, family gatherings, travel, movies, and of course those sweet treats. She would donate gallons of her precious blood over the years to the blood bank.
Preceding her in death are her parents Archie and Grace Crawford, husband Clem Ford, and sister Patricia Gregory Pruitt. Survivors are children Cary Ford (Cecilia) of Ferndale, Susan Ford Crooks (Stephen) of Bellingham, Steven Ford (Ron Fenton) of Kona, HI. Six grandchildren; Carianne Ford, Trevor Ford (Jenny), Jamie Ford, Brian Crooks, Chuck Crooks and Jeffrey Crooks (Jennie), eight great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, and sister June Crawford Grant (Lacey, WA)
The family would like to sincerely thank each and everyone at the Christian Health Care Center, in Lynden, for their wonderful care of our mother over the past few years.

Aunt Betty was one of a kind. One of the nicest people I have ever known. I will cherish my memories of Betty at the family reunions of years past. I am so sorry for your loss. I know whenever I look to the heavens, if there is a flash of light, it will be Betty taking another picture with a big smile on her face. She will be missed but not forgotten. I can only imagine the glorious reunion occuring in heaven right now. God bless your family. Blake & Kathy Gregory

Aunt Betty was very loved -- I have so many warm and happy memories of family gatherings over the years. One of my earliest was walking on the beach with Aunt Betty holding my hand as we crossed over rocks and barnacles to watch Dad, Clem and Uncle Jim head out for a fishing expedition near Tulalip. I don't remember if we all feasted on their catch that night, or relied on Betty, Mom and Patty to make up for it with the usual "Crawford girl" buffet of delicious food. I have so many snapshot memories of large Crawford gatherings with lots of laughter, food and pictures being taken.
Betty always had a warm smile and a kind word for everyone. -- and we could always rely on her to bring a delicious treat for the conclusion of the grand meal.
Steve and I are keeping you all in our thoughts and prayers. Linda Grant and Steve Boruchowitz
