Catherine D. Dearman

Service Information

Cathy's life will be remembered and celebrated Saturday, March 19th at 10:30 AM at Christ the King Church in Bellingham. Reception to follow.

Catherine (Cathy) Diane Dearman was born on Monday April 13, 1953 to Lloyd and Norma Varner. She came into the world early, and very tiny, but full of strength & tenacity that would not only sustain her through her earliest days, but throughout her life. She was a big sister to Cherie and Tina who she loved very much. In 1974 she met the love of her life, and through commitment, dedication and hard work they built a beautiful life. They raised four strong daughters who are a lot like their mother.

Cathy spent 32 years as a social service Director for The Salvation Army. In her work, and in her life, she always extended not only practical help, but genuine care to the people God brought into her life. Cathy loved lighthouses, which is fitting because she was a guiding light for so many, pointing others towards the hope she had found through Jesus.

On February 19th, 2022 Cathy finished her battle with ALS and was free to eat and dance and sing in the presence of Jesus. Cathy is survived by her husband Buck, their four daughters Tracy (Rod) Wolfington, Kristy (Anthony) Archie, Angel (Kevin) Finsrud, and Julee Dearman. They have 13 grandchildren and 2 great grandsons. Their grandkids have brought so much joy and life to their world.

Donations of remembrance can be made to the ALS Association Evergreen Chapter, The Salvation Army, or Bellingham Hospice.
