Memories

My sincere condolences to the Prehall and Cook family. I haven't seen Cheryl in years and did not imagine it would be on the obituary page in the local newspaper. She and I were great friends in elementary school at Westview. We became great competitors when I stayed at AVHS and she competed at FHS. I can't imagine the loss this brings -- please know we will keep you in our thoughts with warm memories of an amazing person I am so privileged to have had in my life, even for a short time.

So sad to hear of the passing of Cheryl. We played basketball and volleyball together in highschool ...30 years ago. I remember all the fun we had and what a great athlete Cheryl was. Many prayers go out to her parents and children. My heart breaks for your great loss!

My thoughts and prayers are with the Prehall & Cook family for the loss of a loved one. Cheryl was a great teamate and friend in High School. We had alot of great times in Volleyball and Basketball, and although time passes, the memory of her smile and laughter will always be remembered.

What a wonderful memorial to Cheryl on this website. She is a talented and beautiful person who will be greatly missed. My memories of her from high school are so vivid, and these lovely photos reflect exactly how I remember her and how I imagined she dealt with her cancer journey. My condolences go to Gary, Lila, and Steve Prehall, as well as her 4 kids.

I was so saddened to learn of Cheryl's passing. We got to know Cheryl and her family when they moved next door, and used to take her daughter Summer along for family trips to Whistler and Leavenworth. Brian took Colin and Mac mountain-biking on Galbreath. Energetic Gus wandered into our house one holiday while we were out taking a walk and we came home to cat food and sneaker-prints on the windowsill, and the smell of spray starch in the air. Then they moved to the other side of town and sadly, out of our lives. I knew of Cheryl's medical history and was always struck by how fiercely she lived, undaunted, her children a living testament. I had the pleasure of meeting Cheryl's parents Gary and Lila, and you have my heartfelt condolences. Hugs to Summer, Colin, Mac, Gus and Steve.

So many great memories came rushing back as I read the wonderful obituary that was written in a local Farmington paper that my mom sent to me on Cheryl's passing. Her smile is just as I remember it and I can still hear her giggles now. She was such a great teammate and friend!! I loved getting her annual Christmas greetings and watching her family grow larger and older. I was diagnosed with Stage II breast cancer in 2012 and only hope that I can live with the same courage and spirit that Cheryl did for eleven years. God Bless you Lila, Gary and Steve!!
