Darryl S. Nowlin

Darryl peacefully slipped away from us on Saturday, Sept. 1st, with his girlfriend Stephanie at his side.

He was born in Los Angeles, CA to Connie and Bill Nowlin. After spending his youth in Southern California, he moved to Lake Tahoe and continued to ply his trade as an HVAC technician. He moved to Bellingham in 1995 to be closer to his children. Darryl loved camping, fishing, motocross, and football, aways rooting for his favorite team the Oakland Raiders. He was a defensive coach for the North Tahoe High Lakers, The University of Nevada at Reno Wolfpack, and the Bellingham Eagles. He became disabled in 1999 due to a stroke.

Darryl was preceded in death by his brother Russ Nowlin and his father Bill. He leaves behind his sons Brad and Jason Nowlin, his mother Connie and her husband Wayne Diggins of Silver Springs, Nevada, sister Kristy Gerdner and her husband of Mission Vallejo, CA, his half-brother Ryan Jorgenson and his loving girlfriend of thirteen years, Stephanie Everidge.

At Darryls request, no services will be held. A special thanks to all the staff at Whatcom Hospice House for their help and support & Dr. Christoph Reitz for his heartfelt care of Darryl during his long illness.

Memories

From Melissa B.

I only met Darryl once, but it was a memorable occasion. I know he was much loved, and won't soon be forgotten by those he left behind. I also know he loved, the very best he could, his dear companion Stephanie. My heart, and my prayers, go out to her. I pray that the very best of her memories of him will be her comfort during this difficult time.
