Irene Rome
Irene Rome, age 90, of Bellingham, Wa. died at her home on Wednesday March 3, 2022. Raised on a farm outside Ritzville, WA. she was one of 13. She married Ron Schoesler and they had 3 children. Later divorced, she remarried Robert Rome and moved to Bellingham in 1979.
She was a long-time active member of St James Presbyterian Church. Irene had a love and appreciation for many things including: baking, cooking, reading, antiques, beach combing, bird watching, and art. She had a passion for gardening and growing flowers, especially tulips – attending the yearly Skagit tulip festival many times.
She cultivated life-long friendships and was embraced for her open minded, kind acceptance of others.
She longed to travel and visited Alaska several times, as well as an extended trip to Europe in her 70’s to the Netherlands, France, and Italy.
She loved her family deeply and was dearly loved by all.
She is survived by her husband Robert; her children: Jill Bogle (Beaverton, Or), Karen Jackson (Bellingham, Wa), Jason Schoesler (deceased); grandchildren: Aaron; David; Matt; Ian (spouse Danielle); Nicholas; Colin; Katy; and great-grand-daughter Maisie.
Donations of remembrance can be made to St. James Presbyterian Church. A private family memorial is planned for a later time.
She is greatly Missed.

I miss her good nature and common sense at St. James. She was kind to me when I first came and remained kind to me over the years.
