Kevin L. Smith

In loving memory of Kevin L. Smith who passed away in May 21st in Bellingham...

Kevin is survived by four sisters - Karla, Tracie, Kristine and Mica, his dog Zeek, who was the light of his dad's life, and many family and friends. Kevin had a short life, but he had a happy life. Life with all of his travels to many places like Hawaii, Germany, Las Vegas and California. His favorite working place was Hawaii. He enjoyed swimming with the dolphins. He loved being by the water. He was a talented artist and landscape designer. One of his favorite things to do was design and create Haunted Houses during his favorite holiday. He was also into photography, cooking, music, movies and fast cars.

We, his family, would like to thank the Sean Humphrey House, the staff, volunteers, including Sadie & Shasta, the house pets, for the last four good years of Kevin's life. Their generosity, love and continuous support made these last year's memorable for Kevin and for us. It was their devoted care for him, their laughter and their caring that extended his life and made it worth living. They would spend time watching T.V, reading books, listening to his favorite music, making a big deal out of holidays and more. We would especially like to thank Cassie and Ingrid for everything they did to make his life a good one and for giving the family a peace of mind. We ask that in memory of Kevin, that you donate to the Sean Humphrey House, they deserve the support for Kevin and for others.

Walk into the Light my Son by O'Deana Wilson

Walk into the light my son; and today you will be free. Walk into the light my son; and together we will be. Walk into the light my son; as we walk hand in hand. Walk into the light my son; for your fears will finally end. Walk into the light my son; and no longer will you weep. Walk into the light my son; and your pain is mine to keep. Walk into the light my son; as I protect your soul. Walk into the light my son; for you are now, forever home

Donations in Kevin's memory may be made to Sean Humphrey House. (http://www.seanhumphreyhouse.org/sean-humphrey-house-donations)

Dear Kevin,

I have thought about you so many, many times since you left Denver.  You were one of the best friends I've ever had and I have missed you so.  I'm so glad to hear your last years were happy and you were surrounded by love.  You gave us so many good memories and crazy good times.  Life is a little less bright without you but your memories will always warm my heart.

He Was a Friend of Mine

He was a friend of mine
Every time I think about him now
Lord I just can't keep from cryin'
'Cause he was a friend of mine

I stole away and cried
'Cause I never had too much money
And I never been quite satisfied
And he was a friend of mine

He never done no wrong
A thousand miles from home
And he never harmed no one
And he was a friend of mine
