Leslie Leroy Peterson

Service Information

A Memorial Service is planned for Friday, May 19th, 4:30 p.m., at Northwest Baptist Church, 3545 Northwest Ave., Bellingham.

Leslie Leroy Peterson joined his Lord, while surrounded by his family, on May 2nd, 2017 in Bellingham. He was born in Birch Bay on August 28, 1927. Les grew up on the family farm, showed cattle in 4-H and worked on the farm while attending Pleasant Valley Grade School, and Bellingham High School, graduating in 1945. Les married Arlene Lich in 1949. They enjoyed horseback riding, milking cows, farm life and visiting friends. A son, Allen, and daughter, LeAnn, were born. The cattle were sold and Les drove truck for the Farmers' Co-op. Family time included boating and camping and Les enjoyed woodcarving and Ham Radio. Les was hired by Intalco shortly after it opened. He was quickly promoted to supervisor and worked there for 20 years before retiring. Les and Arlene spent more time RVing, traveling as far as Arizona. Their favorite campground was Grandy Creek, where they would meet friends and loved to bring their grandchildren. Les was an active member of Northwest Baptist Church. He loved his family and pets and everyone loved his sense of humor. He is survived by his wife, Arlene, son Allen and daughter LeAnn (Scott) Caseria; grandsons Dusty (Emily), Cody (KC) and Tyler Caseria; great-grandsons Irah and Elias Caseria; and beloved dog, Winston. The family would like to thank Alderwood Park Convalescent Center for their loving care during his last few years.
