Nancy Keso

On May 4, 2019 Nancy Keso left this world to be with her loved ones gone.

Born Nancy Dolores Peacock to James and Ceceil Peacock on September 1, 1936 in Fairbanks, Territory of Alaska. Three years later her mother passed, which left James to raise a daughter by himself. Fairbanks was a hard area for a man to raise a daughter and work sometimes being away from home for great lengths of time. James made arrangements to send Nancy to a good friend’s family in Seattle so she could be taken care of in a family environment. Nancy grew up in Seattle and attended Jane Adams Junior High. She met and married Charles Bertram Maygard in 1953. Together they had three children, Randy, Johnathan, and David. In 1968 the family moved to Alaska, settling in Wrangell. Charles and Nancy divorced in 1971. Nancy met Austin “Shorty” Keso” from Wrangell in 1972 and they were married.

Nancy and Shorty moved to Seattle, Washington in 1973 with David. In 1978 they moved to Camano, Island, Washington. Together they made their house a beautiful home, as they both enjoyed working on the yard and home. They eventually moved from Camano Island to Mt. Vernon. Shorty passed in 2008 unexpectedly leaving Nancy alone. In 2009 she relocated to eastern Washington to be near her son David, his wife Kim, and Granddaughter Nicole where she bought a home in Pasco, Washington. Due to health problem she went to stay with her son Randy in Bellingham, Washington where she passed.

Nancy loved her gardening, landscaping and making friends. Boy would she make friends, she would smile and say hello to everyone she passed in the grocery store or on the street. She did everything during her life from being a bank teller with Seattle First National Bank, painting homes, and being a den mother for her sons local Boy Scout Troop. As stated earlier she loved gardening, she had huge flower gardens in every house she lived in, she really had a green thumb and could grow anything. She was the best mother and Grandmother anyone could ask for and is greatly missed.

Nancy left behind her Sons Randy Maygard, and David (Kimberly) Maygard; Grandsons Chad Ritchie, Shane Maygard, and John Maygard; Granddaughter Nicole (Russ) Einan; and Great Granddaughter Emily Einan.

Nancy was preceded in death by her Father James Lawson Peacock; Mother Ceceil Jean Hardy; Son Johnathan James Maygard; and Husband Austin “Shorty” Keso.
