Memories

From John Hess

Your father was a very special man and God broke the mold when he created him. Both your mom and dad were super people that Jean and I truly loved and enjoyed being around. While we console our selves with the knowledge that Ron and CarolAnne are reunited with each other in Gods loving embrace we will still deeply miss them for the rest of our lives. We pray for Gods peace and understanding for all of us. Love the Hess family

I am so blessed to have known your dad and your mom. I also know that they have been reunited and that makes my heart so happy. They were in my life during the best of times and some of the different times. I am going to miss talking to him. I want to thank his family for sharing him with me!

Ron meant so much to my son, Rick. He was Rick's father figure when Rick had none growing up. He and your mom were very special people and I will always appreciate the love and guidence they gave to him as he was growing up. Ron taught Rick much more than "how to train a dog".

We know Murphy is one very happy dog now.

From Diana Challender

Your Dad was such a gentle soul. I first met Ron when he would have Murphy carry in the bank bag and put it up on the counter. I had the pleasure of getting to know him and how important his family, first of all, and dogs were to him. He always had that warm smile and something special to say.

I know there will forever be an empty place in your hearts that comes from losing a parent, but I pray that God's love and His strength will comfort you now, and in the days ahead. Treasure your memories and just know that your Dad and Mom are dancing together again. Lean on the love and support of family and friends who are here for you.

With much love and continued prayers,
Diana

This is truly a sad day, I had the pleasure of getting to know Ron through dog training. Ron was a cheerful man who never met a stranger, everyone who he touched was left with a memorable impression of him. His beloved wife, children and dogs were his world, he deeply in love with them all. May God bless you all during this difficult time. My love and prayers go out to you all.

Your Dad and Mom were wonderful people. I am sad to hear that both your Mom and Dad are gone now- I had lost touch for several years. As others have said- they are together now and with the Lord. They were such a great pair, and helped me so much with my "unruly" Jack Russell's training back in 1999. They loved their German Shepherds, and Ollie was a bit of a challenge. They taught me so much about handling him. I helped one day their move from their original place near Sandy Point- that was a treat! Praying that the Lord will give you all His comfort and be
your family as you miss your wonderful Dad.

We had more to do! I'd just met Ron by phone a couple of months ago, and he was excited and encouraging about a youth program for stockdog training. I will miss the opportunity to get to know him better, but what little I learned from that long conversation gave me a hint of what a treasure he was, and continues to be, to those he touched. Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of His saints (Psalms 116:15) !

Ron and Carol were the salt of the earth and had a true gift for teaching. Our dogs, Mocha and Mambo, have been true ambassadors to the Cedarwoods training they received. Thank you Ron and Carol for all of the wonderful canine citizens you created and all the owners you trained!

Ron and Carolann were the best.
I trained three dogs with Ron and Carolann. You'd think I could train the second two after taking the class once. No way. The knowledge, guidance and support from Ron and Carolann was necessary! They were the most devoted, wise and kind teachers I have ever known. Ron told us to be "good dog ambassadors". In his honor, I will carry on that ideal. He was a charming and kind spirit with a soft spoken voice of calm and reason. I loved his rope tricks! I admired Ron greatly and feel honored to have known him. My sympathies on your loss.

I am saddened to hear of Ron's passing. I learned so much from both of your parents - what a wonderful couple they were. I trained 3 dogs with them over the years and I will never forget their kindness and wealth of "dog and people knowledge". I thought the world of Ron and CarolAnn.
My thoughts and prayers to the family.

We had the great pleasure of meeting Ron while attending Cedarwood. He had a great passion and talent for dogs and people. He helped to unite our new family member and train us how to work with her. Ron went to great lengths to make sure everyone was getting what they needed from the trainings. He was a very passionate man with much love to share. Ron will be greatly missed. My thoughts and prayers to the family.

Ron helped me so much with my "impossible" dog, and in the process we became good friends. I will miss him greatly, but I take comfort in knowing that he is with Carolann now.

Ron was so dear to me.
I met him 17 year ago with my dog Shilo, who I'm positive was his best student ever! :-) He and Carol became close friends of mine and I could always count on a birthday greeting from him even if we hadn't spoken in months. I tried to contact him a couple days ago and got a sick feeling when he didn't respond right away. I have so many fond memories. I will miss him very much. I am so very sorry for your loss.

From Suzanne Parker

Ron was the most unfailingly kind and compassionate person I ever knew; it was a great blessing--and honor--just to have met him. He was a Human Whisperer as well as a true Dog Whisperer, he understood the hearts and souls of all creatures (human and otherwise) that he came in contact with, and our lives were made better by that contact with him. He loved his Carolann and his family so much; there was even infinite room in his heart to bring in many, many two- and four-legged strays, fix what was wrong with them, then send them on their way whole once more. Throughout all the time I knew him, he enjoyed the good times with great appreciation and gusto; he suffered and endured loss, grief, and illness with quiet strength and courage. We who were left behind still shed tears for our loneliness without him, but when he soared through the skies toward home, free at last from sorrow and pain, he heard--even as he was still light-years away from Heaven--a host of angels singing to greet him, with Carol first among them. In the Bible, King David is described as "a man after God's own heart"--and Ron was surely another man after God's own heart. He and Carol left behind them a living legacy of wonderful children and grandchildren, and an extended family of thousands who carry them in their hearts and look forward to seeing them again in Paradise. It's so hard to find the words to express the heartache we all feel in a world without Ron and Carol; it seems like a colder and more unkind place--especially for their family. God please bless their children and grandchildren, and comfort them until all of God's creatures are reunited with each other and Our Lord Jesus Christ in Heaven.
