Thomas W. O'Grady
We are working on planning a private memorial dinner, as he didn't wish for a formal funeral or memorial service, and will keep our family members updated as plans are made.
Thomas W. O'Grady passed on into God's graces the afternoon of April 3rd, 2023 after battling lung cancer and end-stage COPD/emphysema.
Born July 22nd, 1949, he was 74 years old, surrounded by his wife and daughter, his pets, and a nurse from the Whatcom Hospice Care team as he passed in his sleep.
A warrior throughout his life, he was born in Bellingham, Washington, went to high school in Broadus, Montana, and briefly lived in Billings, Montana before coming back to Bellingham. He was a veteran Marine Corps sergeant who served in Vietnam for 8 years, with 4 Purple Hearts.
The love for his family and for music, and his knowledge of life are immeasurable.
He is survived by many loving individuals of his family, including his three daughters Melissa, Tommi, and Lacey, his son, Jeffery, his wife, Grace, his sisters Jennie, Connie, Colleen, Marilyn and Barb, his Nephews Cole and Logan, his granddaughter Courtney, his grandsons Cody, Dyllan, Devin, Carsen, and Colton, his great-grandchildren Jaiden, Annie, Elijah, Anakin, Addison, Ryleigh, Kynleigh, and Barrett, and his brothers Eddie, Howard, Ben, and Lester. He was predeceased by his stepmother, Patsy; his mother, Norma Earley and his sister Jane O’Grady.
Tom was a gift that some will never know in a lifetime.
